Finnlines marks ro-ro milestone in Gdynia
Finnlines has marked the six-month anniversary of its Poland connection on the "North Sea & Biscay Line" with an industry event held on 12 December in Gdynia, Poland. Launched in June, the weekly ro-ro service links Gdynia with Belgium, the UK, Spain and Finland, offering Polish shippers a direct maritime alternative to long-distance road transport as the company reported. Through the wider Grimaldi Group network, the service also connects Poland to intercontinental routes serving the Far East, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, West Africa, South America and the US East Coast.
Around seventy participants, including customers, partners and representatives, attended the event, which included service updates, a port tour and a visit to "M/s Finneco III". "This connection strengthens not only the service portfolio but the strategic position of the Port of Gdynia within European logistics", said Piotr Gorzeński, CEO of the Port of Gdynia Authority.
