First bi-train for greener logistics in Argentina
TecPlata, International Container Terminal Services Inc’s business unit in Buenos Aires, has received its first bi-train truck, operated by Yusen Logistics, marking a milestone for Argentina’s port logistics.
The bi-train, featuring two semi-trailers, can carry up to 70% more cargo per trip than a standard truck, lowering emissions and transport costs. The May 20 delivery highlights TecPlata’s commitment to innovation and sustainable operations.
With direct highway access and suitable infrastructure, the terminal can integrate high-capacity road transport without disrupting flows. CEO Juan Pablo Trujillo called the move a step toward more efficient trade. The initiative supports TecPlata’s role in building a smart logistics hub for greater Buenos Aires. (ah)
