First client from North America

The real-time digital booking platform Cargo One is continuing its global expansion. The Berlin-based company first grew in Europe and then branched out into the Middle East (Etihad Cargo) and Asia (ANA Cargo, NCA). Now it has entered another new continent.

In 2020 Cargo One raised more than USD 60 million in two financing rounds; money it will now use to grow further. The action will now focus on North America, where Chad Tibor has been named vice-president and general manager for airlines in the Americas. The efforts are paying off – Air Canada recently became the first regional carrier to agree to offer its airfreight division’s capacities through the airfreight booking platform. Air Canada Cargo is set to add two new full-freighters to its fleet this year.

Air Canada’s vice-president for cargo, Jason Berry, told the media that “this latest agreement will allow us to offer our customers simple and reliable booking access to our growing capacities, as well as to simultaneously further expand our digital sales opportunities.”
