First landing of B747-8F in Hahn
The first B747-8 freighter is likely to land at Frankfurt-Hahn (Germany) airport at the weekend with a special permit. The new jumbo is the most contemporary and quietest F category freighter, to which many airlines are currently switching, including Hahn customers Nippon Cargo Airlines, Atlas Air and Silkway. The airport is working on permanent approval of this aircraft category by the end of November.
The cargo transported is a de-alcoholisation plant destined for Brazil. The plant is to be used to remove the alcohol in Brazilian beer for the football World Cup next year. Air Charter Service Deutschland chartered the aircraft at the Frankfurt site from Atlas, which usually uses this jet for Etihad Cargo. Fraport Cargo Services oversaw the loading on site. The entire logistical processing was organised by Integrated Logistics.
