Five years of humanitarian aid with Airlink


Yesterday, 19 August 2025, on the UN's 'World Humanitarian Day', Qatar Airways Cargo reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian aid through its 'WeQare' programme, highlighting five years of cooperation with Airlink and 42 NGO partners. Since 2020, the airline has moved 720 t of relief goods pro bono, saving NGOs USD 6.59 million in logistics costs and reaching more than 15.5 million people in 34 countries.

 

In 2024 alone, 136 t of aid were transported to twelve countries, ranging from medicines and clean water to shelter materials. The carrier supported Airlink and 16 NGOs, enabling faster responses to over 20 emergencies.

 

Mark Drusch, COO at Qatar Airways Cargo, said the airline is committed to delivering "the right aid, to the right place, at the right time". The partnership was described by Airlink’s Stephanie Steege as "critical in swiftly delivering aid to hard-to-reach crises". (ah)
