Flying Dutchwoman to succeed Belgian Tiaca chair
Roos Bakker, a Dutch national and currently the business development manager of CTSN, has been elected as the next chair of Tiaca.
She’ll assume the role after the Air Cargo Forum in Abu Dhabi (UAE) in November, taking over from Belgian air cargo veteran Steven Polmans, who served for six years. Bakker, currently one of two deputy chairs, brings deep experience in ground handling and cargo operations with her.
“It’s an honour to follow in Steven’s footsteps,” she said. Tiaca director general Glyn Hughes praised Polmans’ leadership in modernising the organisation and launching key initiatives such as the ‘BlueSky’ programme. The election for Bakker’s successor as deputy chair is currently underway. With this transition, Tiaca believes it has strengthened its position as the international voice for the air cargo industry.
