Flying horses despite the pandemic

Despite a challenging year, Emirates Skycargo continued to provide a safe and comfortable journey for horses travelling to compete at international equine sporting events. The carrier has shipped more than 1,100 horses Since April 2020.

In February, the Dubai-based airline performed three charter flights to bring horses from Los Angeles and Miami to Riyadh, where they competed in the Saudi Cup 2021 championship.

Emirates will also be transporting horses during the racing season in Dubai, which ends in one month from today, on 8 April 2021.

Its "Emirates Equine" product for the transportation of horses on its B777F provides specially designed horse stalls which are loaded directly inside the aircraft. They are also fitted with hay nets, and grooms travel with the champions on the flight. (ah)
