Flypop finally finds aircraft lessor

Having been in discussions with a number of leasing companies over the past few months, Flypop has finally signed a multiple aircraft A330-300 lease deal with Ireland-based Avolon.

(Nino) Navdip Singh Judge, CEO & principal of the new British budget airline: "With this lease deal we have been able to submit our AOC licence application to the UK Civil Aviation Authority and expect our first flights to commence by October."

Flypop aims to provide "the most affordable non-stop flights between the UK and the second cities of South Asia", starting with India, a market which "will return strongly," adds Martyn Lewis, SVP – Marketing (Europe, Middle East & Africa) at Avolon.

The bellyhold capacity of the widebody aircraft is not neglected. As ITJ was told, it will be "fully outsourced as a TCM deal." (ah)
