Franco-Dutch airline group on stand-by for vaccines

In recent years, Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has continuously upgraded its pharma and healthcare-related services by improving processes, training staff and forming dedicated service teams for customers, investing in infrastructure at both of ist hubs and fully merging its booking and service options.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,500 cargo-only flights to over 95 long-haul destinations have been operated. Working closely with shippers and forwarders, AFKLMP Cargo has assessed specific requirements for shipping Covid-19 vaccines.

The airline group subsequently adapted its operation in terms of equipment and dedicated monitoring and services, as well as capacities. Enrica Calonghi, global head of pharma logistics, said that "we're ready to play a key role in the distribution of vaccines." (ah)
