FS to explore new energy sources
The Italian rail group aims to accelerate the energy transition towards new sources of fuel and has signed a letter of intent with the energy company ENI to this effect.
The aim of the collaboration is to identify and develop new opportunities, such as the use of alternative fuels for transport, intermodal logistics solutions and best practices in energy efficiency and to explore new technologies related to sustainability.
Since July 2023, the FS Group and Eni have been already experimenting with the use of pure HVO biofuel as a substitute for diesel in passenger transport service in Calabria. (ben)
