Further expansion in China

Just like other players, Seko Logistics also wants to expand its footprint in China, with its new investment partner, Ridgemont Equity Partners, backing the plans. Thus Seko opened an office in Qingdao in February, which will be followed later this year by the expansion of its warehouse and fulfilment centre in Shenzhen. In 2021, its capacity will be increased fourfold to 250,000 parcels a day.

The company moved 20% more air and ocean freight to and from China in the pandemic year of 2020, in comparison to the previous year. Seko has also doubled its capacity at its showcase omni-channel fulfilment centre in Hong Kong to approximately 18,600 sqft and has invested in new equipment there. Seko’s Apac head office is in Hong Kong; its China headquarters are in Shanghai. (sh)
