Gefco at the Strait

The Gefco Group has opened a new logistics centre in Algeciras (Spain) to provide its customers with easier access to Europe and Morocco. The company is aiming to build a bridgehead in one of the key locations for the transit of goods between Europe and Africa close to the Strait of Gibraltar.

Gefco plans no less than to become the main operator of the Moroccan corridor and create a hub in Algeciras with a platform for receiving and distributing goods to allow fluidity even when there are high transhipment rates.

"The new centre in Algeciras will be available 24 hours a day and will have high-level security in order to ensure the correct transit of goods," said Michael Koundri, Gefco director of the Morocco corridor. (sh)
