Geodis and Bolloré bring masks to France and Spain
In order to respond to requests from the French Government, Geodis is planning 16 flights over the coming weeks, representing in volume terms approximately 2,400 cbm of capacity weekly.
This schedule could be extended into May with up to 1 billion masks being shipped. For this operation, Geodis has chartered two AN-124 which will rotate between France and China, with a first flight from Shenzhen containing 8.5 million masks arriving at Vatry airport last Monday.
Bolloré Logistics, Worldwide Flight Services and Airbus also joined forces, in order to race two million face masks to health workers in France and Spain.
Airbus operated one of its own A330-800 to Tianjin to collect the shipment. From Toulouse, an A400M carried face masks to Getafe, completing the operation on 24 March. (ah)
