German campaign to promote inland ports
The German Association of Public Inland Ports (BÖB) launched its new image campaign '#HafenFan' (port fan) at the Transport Logistic 2025 fair in Munich.
The initiative aims to consolidate local PR activities under a unified banner, strengthening public awareness of the sector’s relevance for sustainable logistics.
A growing number of inland ports across Germany are joining the campaign, which features a dedicated logo, social media outreach and branded scarves. Federal transport minister Patrick Schnieder (centre) became the first official '#HafenFan' during his visit to the BÖB stand.
A new political internship programme will invite MPs to experience day-to-day port operations. BÖB president Joachim Zimmermann (third from the left) said the campaign showcases inland ports as a future-ready logistics backbone and strengthens industry unity and visibility. (ah)
