Glasgow – Zhengzhou connection takes off
Today a week ago, on 16 October 2025, Glasgow Prestwick Airport welcomed the first Beijing Capital Airlines freighter from Zhengzhou, marking the launch of a four-times-weekly Airbus A330-243 (P2F) service. The route strengthens e-commerce capacity and opens new export opportunities for Scottish salmon, whisky, and other high-value goods.
"This third scheduled service underlines Prestwick’s position as one of the UK’s leading cargo hubs and demonstrates the strength of our e-commerce solution," said Ian Forgie, CEO of Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
Beijing Capital joins China Cargo Airlines and SF Airlines, the two other Chinese carriers that have recently launched regular services from Prestwick. Together, they highlight the airport’s growing role as a strategic UK hub for China trade and cross-border e-commerce. (ah)
