Global Ship Lease's figures and charters


London-based Global Ship Lease recently reported its latest results. On 30 August 2022, the average remaining term of the company’s charters was 3.1 years on a teu-weighted basis. Contracted revenue on the same basis was USD 2.4 billion. Overall, contracted revenue was USD 2.8 billion.

 

Global Ship Lease also announced that it has entered into new five-year charters with Hapag-Lloyd for six 6,900 teu ships, scheduled to commence between late 2023 and late 2024. The charters are expected to generate an average adjusted ebitda of USD 13.1 million per ship and per year, in total an adjusted ebitda of around USD 393 million.

 

Incorporated in the Marshall Islands, Global Ship Lease commenced operations in December 2007 and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in August 2008.

 

As at 30 August 2022, Global Ship Lease owned 65 containerships, ranging from 1,100 to 11,000 teu, with a total capacity of more than 340,000 teu. (sh)
