"Good dog": saving time and money in Belfast

Speedlink International Logistics, which has been delivering a combination of air, sea and road transportation for over 30 years, has launched a new free running explosive detection dog service (Fredds) in Belfast.

Intended to save time and money for exporters, the offer is said to be the only service of its kind in Ireland, and it is estimated to shorten the process of screening and shipping dense cargo by up to three days.

In addition to the introduction of its new service, which is approved and regulated by the UK civil aviation authority, Speedlink has recently relocated to Belfast International Airport’s cargo village.

Facilitating over 45,000 t of freight each year worth more than GBP 2.2 billion to the local economy, the airport is the third largest regional air cargo hub in UK. (ah)
