Good marks for Bertschi

In 2021, the Bertschi Group, a Switzerland-headquartered company specialising in chemical logistics, saw its turnover pass the threshold of CHF 1 billion. Group-wide sales, especially in Asia, surged by 13%. The turnover share of its global activities, which the group launched ten years ago, rose from 34% to 40%.


Bertschi invested around CHF 100 million in expanding expanded its own logistics infrastructure last year. These investments included doubling the storage capacities for containerised chemical products in Rotterdam and Middlesbrough and building a new chemical logistics hub in China.


In addition, the fleet of tank and silo containers was increased by more than 2,000 units. Bertschi also put the 40,000th container into operations at the start of 2022.


In 2022, company will continue investing in its operations in Antwerp, Duisburg and the Netherlands. The new logistics centre for dangerous liquid chemicals, located in Zhangjiagang at the heart of the Yangtze Delta area not far from Shanghai, will open in mid-2022. (sh)
