Ground handling licences focus on electrification

Brussels airport has awarded new seven-year licences in five ground-handling categories from October 2025.

Aviapartner, Alyzia, Dnata and Menzies were selected for various baggage, ramp, cargo and mail services. Gate Gourmet was confirmed for catering transport in December; a second provider is still being sought.

Sustainability played a key role in the selection process, with strict requirements on vehicle electrification. By 2030, 80% of airside vehicles must be zero-emission. The airport is supporting this transition through its EU-backed 'Breeze' programme, which includes 300 new charging stations and a grid upgrade, aiming to decarbonise all ground operations by 2030.
