Gruber Logistics invests in LNG

Vehicle manufacturer Iveco and Gruber Logistics from South Tyrol have signed an agreement for the delivery of 100 trucks powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). With the Iveco S-Way LNG trucks, which will be supplied by Gasser in Bolzano, the freight forwarder will convert part of its fleet to alternative fuels.

With this move, Gruber Logistics, founded in 1936, responds to the measures adopted by the Tyrolean parliament to limit the impact of vehicle emissions. The 100 trucks are expected to be delivered - in several batches - by the end of the year.

The Iveco S-Way LNG heavy-duty trucks reduce NO2 emissions by 90% and PM by 95%. The engine also cuts CO2 emissions down by 95% when compared to diesel equivalents which use biomethane. (sh)
