GW's Hungarian dances

International transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss is expanding its operations in Hungary. With investments of around EUR 30 million, GV will launch new locations in Zalaegerszeg (western Hungary) and Pécs (southern Hungary) from June this year. Both locations are close to the southeast European corridor (Adria corridor).

In addition, GW is building a 5,000 sqm cargo handling and logistics area in Györ, which are set to be completed by 2024. One reason for this expansion is the growth of business locally.

"In the home delivery segment, we achieved a growth of 80% compared to 2019," said Bálint Varga, branch manager at Gebrüder Weiss Hungary.

The Hajdúdorog subsidiary will be relocated to Polgár, about 30 km away, at the end of 2021. By 2023, the company also plans to build new offices and logistics facilities on a 22.000 sqm plot in Budapest – this will almost double the current capacity of 23,000 sqm. (sh)
