GW stays pushy in Bavaria

The shopping spree continues. Transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has added yet another location to its network in southern Germany. It is taking over the operations of Wolf Internationale Spedition and Air System Luftfracht Spedition in Straubing, Lower Bavaria.

Katja Wolf, most recently managing owner of Wolf Internationale Spedition, is overseeing the transfer with 20 employees with expertise in international freight forwarding, both in land-based transport and air and sea freight.

The Gebrüder Weiss location is based in a recently acquired 45,000 sqm property at Sachsenring. In the medium term, an additional 40 to 60 employees are expected to work here.

"Having Katja Wolf and her two teams join us is a great starting point for development for our new location," said Werner Dettenthaler, managing director land transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss. (sh)
