HAV sets up US branch
Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) has launched HAV USA to support growing demand for its Airlander aircraft in North America. Based in the US, the new entity will focus on developing partnerships with government, defence, and commercial stakeholders. Former NASA executive John Schumacher will lead the subsidiary.
The Airlander 10, HAV’s flagship hybrid aircraft, offers multi-role capabilities for logistics, surveillance, disaster response, and passenger or freight transport. With a ten-tonne payload, 100-seat configuration and up to five days of endurance, it requires no runway infrastructure. Larger variants for up to 200 t are already in planning.
The British company aims to leverage Airlander’s low-emission design and modular versatility for future logistics and aerospace missions in the US and beyond. Production will begin in the UK, with global commercial rollout expected soon. (ah)
