Heavy support for the Netherlands

Qatar Airways Cargo has begun using PAX aircraft as full-freighters into several markets like India (B777 and B787), Kuwait and Oman (A350).

The carrier has also added maindeck capacity to Australia with twice-weekly B777F flights to Melbourne and Perth, adding 200 t of cargo space each week, each way, and to the Netherlands, formerly served with nine weekly frequencies. Its B777F and B747F now operate with 27 weekly frequencies to Amsterdam and seven to Maastricht, increasing Dutch capacity to 7,500+ t per week.

The Royal Netherlands Air Force has also upgraded its capabilities, taking delivery of the first of 20 CH-47F Chinook ordered from Boeing. They will be equipped with the same technology as the US Army, including advanced cargo handling capabilities (max. cargo payload 10.8 t). (ah)
