HHLA acquires a 51% stake in Roland Spedition

The remaining 49% of the shares of the Austrian-based hinterland traffic specialist will remain in the hands of both co-shareholders Christian Gutjahr and Nikolaus Hirnschall, who will continue to manage the business.

Roland Spedition was founded in 1982 and handles a yearly volume of 130,000 teu. Its network covers Central and Southern Europe and connects the North Sea ports of Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Antwerp as well as Koper and Trieste on the Adriatic to the hinterland.

HHLA will incorporate Roland’s service portfolio into its wide European network of seaport terminals in Hamburg (Germany), Tallinn (Estonia), Trieste (Italy) and Odessa (Ukraine) and its intermodal connections to destinations and terminals inland. (ben)
