HHLA beats 2018's figures in 2019


The Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) achieved a rise in volumes, revenues and operating results in 2019, according to preliminary unaudited figures. In total, 7.6 million teu were handled at HHLA’s container terminals, a 3.3% uptick compared to the previous year (7.3 million teu).

 

While volumes at the container throughput at the three container terminals in Hamburg moved sideways, throughput at the international container terminals in Odessa, Ukraine and Tallinn, Estonia rose significantly above the previous year’s level.

 

While group revenue grew by 6.8% to EUR 1.38 billion in the 2019 financial year (2018: EUR 1.29 billion), the group’s operating result (ebit) went up to EUR 222 million (2018: EUR 204 million). The listed Port Logistics subgroup generated revenue of EUR 1.35 billion (previous year: EUR 1.26 billion) and an operating result (ebit) of EUR 205 million (previous year: EUR 188 million).
