Hill Dickinson boosts Singapore commodities expertise


Hill Dickinson has appointed Iain Sharp, a commodities disputes specialist, as partner in the Singapore office. The aim is to enhance the firm’s commodities practice in Singapore, as well as to work with Hill Dickinson’s shipping and trade lawyers in London, Hong Kong and Greece.

Bringing in-depth experience, both contentious and non-contentious, Sharp joins from a position as Asia-Pacific head of legal at a major trading house. Sharp has resolved disputes through litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and has conducted major arbitrations in different countries under institutional rules, but also ad-hoc arbitrations and arbitrations under trade association rules.

In addition to this, he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the LCIA Asia Pacific Users’ Council, the Groupe ASA des Jeunes Praticiens de l'Arbitrage, the Association for International Arbitration, and a general council member of the Asia-Pacific Forum for International Arbitration.
