Hill Dickinson strengthening team in Greece

The maritime legal specialist Hill Dickinson has responded to client needs by strengthening its position in Greece, unveiling a series of new appointments in Piraeus in 2020 and 2021. Many experts have joined the company in recent months; in May new senior associate Kostas Karachalios was the latest. He joined the firm from Stephenson Harwood and brought fifteen years of ship finance experience with him.

Before that casualty specialist and partner Ian Teare took up a position in January 2020, and Vanessa Tzoannos joined the Piraeus office as of counsel in August 2020. She qualified in the Marshall Islands in 2019, making her the first Greek and first European woman to qualify in the Marshall Islands.

Tony Goldsmith, who heads the marine business group internationally, said that “although 2020 saw the tragic loss of Patrick Hawkins and the Covid-19 pandemic, the team has shown exceptional fortitude and become the stronger for it”. (amh)
