How the lights will shine
The shipper Ledvance, a supplier of lamps and luminaires, contracted the 3PL Hellmann to manage some of its European warehousing operations. In addition to managing a central Ledvance warehouse in Molsheim (France), Hellmann has also been in charge of the warehouses in Spain and Poland since autumn 2022.
Ledvance continues to operate its inventory warehouse in Molsheim and primarily serves the Central European markets from there, and now Hellmann Contract Logistics has opened a distribution centre in Borox, in the province of Toledo in Spain, to distribute goods in the Iberian Peninsula.
In addition, a second warehouse is being set up in Wroclaw (Poland), from where retailers in the Nordic countries and Eastern and parts of Western Europe will be supplied.
The move reduces the distance to customers by 1 million km annually. The new 20,000 sqm campus in Poland will be operated by Hellmann exclusively for Ledvance and is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of February 2023. (sh)
