Hübner expanding solar capacity
The Hübner Group recently commissioned its fourth photovoltaic system since summer 2023.
The latest installation, at the headquarters in Kassel (Germany), built with local partners, has a peak output of 1.1 MW and supplies two-thirds of its energy directly to production. The remaining energy is fed into the public grid.
According to Hübner the system produces 1,049 MWh annually and will eliminate 733 t of CO₂ every year. Since 2023 solar units have already been added in India, Hungary and eastern Germany. Hübner also continues to reduce its energy consumption through waste heat utilisation and efficient compressed air systems, amongst other things. The firm aims to meet 100% of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2040, supported by an Ecovadis silver rating. (js)
