ICS updates guide on environmental compliance
International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) Publications has released the fifth edition of ‘Shipping and the Environment: A Guide to Environmental Compliance’. It provides an updated, comprehensive overview of the environmental regulations affecting the shipping industry and offers practical advice for navigating these complexities.
The guide is designed to be accessible for a wide range of users, from industry professionals to newcomers, filling a gap in available resources which are often either too complex or too simplistic.
This edition includes expanded insights into the intersection of shipping operations and environmental protection, aiming to support the industry's move towards the International Maritime Organisation’s 2050 net-zero carbon emissions target.
ICS updates this guide every two to three years to reflect the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape and ensure it remains a relevant and valuable resource for fostering sustainable shipping practices. (pb)
