Improved port access for trucks

The Port of Bremen is investing in 10,000 sqm of new road surface to improve port accessibility: extensive road rehabilitation work is currently underway on Senator-Borttscheller-Strasse in the Bremerhaven overseas port area.

The road surface has to be renewed over a length of 700 m between the entrance to the Eurogate Container Terminal / Container Freight Station and the road junction at Amerikaring.

The road rehabilitation will also eliminate an age-old traffic problem in the port - the annoying backlogs during heavy traffic. Trucks will be routed separately from other traffic in future. To this end, a separate port access road for trucks is being built as part of the ongoing construction project. (ben)
