Indian rail operator to join digital platform

GatewayRail has become the first rail operator in India to join TradeLens, a blockchain-underpinned digital logistics platform jointly developed by A.P. Moller Maersk and IBM. The association between GatewayRail and TradeLens is a major milestone in digitising India’s vast inland container logistics system, the companies said.

By joining TradeLens, GatewayRail can modernise its customers’ supply chains by offering them higher visibility and safe and secure digital documentation. GatewayRail operates a fleet of 31 trains connecting western gateway ports to its rail-linked inland container depots, where the TradeLens solutions will be deployed in the first phase. (ben)
