Indian Railways transporting more freight

Indian Railways consistently boosted volumes between April 2012 and February 2013


Indian Railways carried 911.53 million t of revenue earning freight traffic between April 2012 and February 2013. This equates to a plus of 4.1%, or 35.93 million t more, than the 875.6 million t that the railway hauled from April 2011 to February 2012. However, the transport provider’s steady growth seems to be stagnating this year. In February 2013, Indian Railways hauled 83.60 million t of freight, 0.16 million t or 0.19% less than in February 2012. (ben)
