Infrastructure upgrade in DRC
The African Development Bank is driving infrastructure and service improvements in the DRC, with projects benefitting over 19 million people, as it has reported.
A joint mission visited sites in Kenge, Kikwit, Tshikapa, Kamuensha and Mbuji-Mayi, where roads, health centres, schools and air safety measures have been upgraded.
Achievements include 622 km of road rehabilitated between Kinshasa and Batshamba, via Kenge and Kikwit. At Mbuji-Mayi the extended runway and safety upgrades are nearly complete. Six radio navigation systems and VHF channels aim to enhance flight safety nationwide. (js)
