Inmarsat equips Krey newbuilds
Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, will deploy its fully managed NexusWave connectivity service on four newbuild heavy lift vessels operated by Krey Schiffahrt. The solution will provide always-on, bonded connectivity with unlimited data to support operational systems and crew applications as Inmarsat reported.
Krey Schiffahrt currently manages eight multi-purpose heavy lift vessels. According to Inmarsat's information the company is expanding its fleet to meet growing project cargo requirements. The new project cargo carriers have been designed with optimised hull forms and propulsion concepts, aiming to enable a reduction in CO₂ emissions of more than 35% compared with comparable tonnage. "State-of-the-art vessels require state-of-the-art connectivity – and Inmarsat NexusWave delivers exactly that", stated Jan-Henning Stehr, Sales Manager – Europe, Inmarsat Maritime.
