Integrated charging solutions boost fleet electrification

The transition to sustainable mobility remains challenging for corporate fleets. While nearly half of new vehicle registrations last year were alternative drive systems, the number of newly registered electric vehicles dropped by 27.4% after subsidies ended. However, demand for charging infrastructure is rising, with plans for a 350-location fast-charging network for trucks along German highways.

A recent UTA Edenred study of 400 fleet managers in Germany and Poland shows most believe their depot's power supply is adequate for charging needs, with 61% in Germany and 49% in Poland feeling confident. Additionally, 80% of German companies and 33% of Polish firms use or plan to use renewable energy for charging.

Investment in fleet electrification is robust; 45% of German respondents plan to invest at least EUR 100,000 in five years, with a third planning over EUR 1 m. Integrated charging solutions that combine public, home and on-site charging are highly desirable, reflecting the need for comprehensive service packages to enable this transition.
