Intermodal link for French inland ports

Another step forward in the efforts to expand multimodal connections between ports in France: About a year after launching its operations between inland ports Rouen and Bonneuil-sur-Marne, Marfret's container rail service is expanding between Normandy and Ile-de-France with an additional stop in the port of Gennevilliers.

It is now possible to book container slots on the two legs: Rouen / Bonneuil-sur-Marne and Bonneuil-sur-Marne / Gennevilliers / Rouen. This rail shuttle, combined with the river service provided by Marfret, is a major addition to the improvement of multimodal services on the Seine axis.

Antoine Berbain, managing director of Haropa - Ports of Paris, welcomed this development and commented: "This service also connects the various Haropa - Ports container terminals, including the Paris Terminal." (cd)
