                        Intermodal sector demands action
Several intermodal operators and associations, including Hupac, TX Logistik, ERFA, Fermerci, UIRR, SGKV and Kombiverkehr, have sent an open letter to Germany’s transport minister Patrick Schnieder and Deutsche Bahn CEO Evelyn Palla. The signatories warn of a shift from rail back to road as costs rise and corridor renovations reduce capacity as Kombiverkehr reported.
They call for urgent measures to safeguard combined transport, including a 2026 track-access fee freeze, capacity guarantees of at least 90%, improved diversion routes, market-based path allocation, compensation for inferior routes during works and suspension of cancellation fees. (js)
