Into the heart of Southern California
Heart Aerospace has moved its corporate headquarters from Gothenburg (Sweden) to Los Angeles CA (USA) to drive forward its hybrid-electric aircraft programme.
The strategic shift supports upcoming flight tests of the X1 prototype and continued development of the 30-seat X2 aircraft. In addition to the passenger version, Heart plans a cargo variant of the X2, aimed at short-haul regional logistics with lower emissions and faster turnaround.
The company is vertically integrating key technologies—including batteries, hybrid-electric propulsion and flight control systems—to refine its designs and speed up certification.
Backed by USD 147 million in funding, Heart has closed its Swedish operations to scale up its US team. CEO Anders Forslund says the relocation strengthens ties with key customers and partners and positions the company for long-term growth in the USA. (ah)
