Intra-city fleet in India to become green

DHL Supply Chain (DHL) will be investing EUR 500 million in its Indian business over the next five years. With this investment, the company is planning to own and operate wholly owned large multi-client sites in India, adding 1.1 million sqm of warehousing space to the group’s existing portfolio.

Furthermore, DHL will be converting its entire intra-city fleet in India into green fuel / EV versions by 2025. In fact, by the end of 2022, 100% of the two-wheeler fleet will be converted to EVs.

All new sites will implement green features like solar panels, rainwater harvesting, LED lights, etc. The expansion plans also include doubling the company’s workforce in India to reach 25,000 by 2026. (ben)
