Iran Air is back in Germany and cargo-ready

After the resumption of flights to Turkey on 25 September, Iran Air will be expected back in Germany (Frankfurt) as from tomorrow, 3 October. Meanwhile, the state-owned Iranian Airlines has completely overhauled its 32 years old B747.

The works on the last jumbo of its fleet took two months and were carried out by Iranian specialists. The airline explained to the national media that the spare parts had also been manufactured in Iran.

The B747-200 is a combi version equipped with passenger windows which also has a swing-up nose. The aircraft has lately been used exclusively as a freighter. Many aircraft scrapped by Iran Air, including B747SP, which were withdrawn from service several years ago, have recently been put up for sale. (ah)
