It is Y-sustainable

The German freight forwarder Trans-o-flex has opened a new logistics centre in Wildenfels near Zwickau in Saxony.

The company, which specialises in express transport and logistics solutions for the healthcare, cosmetics and consumer electronics sectors, has developed a sustainable real estate concept. The logistics centre was built in the form of a large Y on the 30,000 sqm site.

With a compact hall area of 5,000 sqm, this created 99 gates for loading and unloading. The shape of the building also reduces the necessary traffic area to a minimum and enables fast cross-docking between long-distance trucks and delivery vehicles. Heating is provided by gas-fired dark radiators, and the site is lit by LED lamps. (sh)
