Jacob and Logistikbude streamline load carrier management
Jacob Söhne has partnered with Logistikbude to automate the management of pipe carriers through a digital tracking system employing Bluetooth low energy (BLE) trackers and software. This initiative, tested over seven months, enhances communication, transparency and efficiency by allowing employees to track the location and status of carriers with precision.
The system replaces manual tracking methods, significantly reducing loss rates and retrieval efforts. With the implementation of BLE trackers and barcodes on carriers, alongside fixed gateways on site, Jacob can accurately monitor exits and returns of carriers. Positive results from pilot projects will enable the system's expansion to external deliveries and integration with existing SAP systems. The collaboration emphasises open communication and a user-friendly interface, fostering productivity and operational improvements across the company.
