Jaxport completes vehicle expansion project phase
Contractors have completed the expansion of Jaxport’s berth 22 at the Blount Island Marine Terminal, allowing it to accommodate larger vehicle carriers up to 750 ft long.
This project is the first of two vehicle projects that are part of a USD 60 million initiative designed to enhance efficiency and capacity for vehicle shipping. Located at Florida’s northern gateway, Jaxport is a US vehicle-handling port.
The hub is also in the process of constructing a new vehicle berth at Blount Island, expected to be completed by early 2027. The Florida department of transportation funded 75% of the project, with Jaxport covering the remaining 25%. (js)
