Joint action for maritime future
The Women’s international shipping & trading association (Wista international) and Bimco, representing 64% of global tonnage, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration on diversity, sustainability, and professional excellence in the maritime sector. The agreement sets a framework for cooperation in research, information sharing, and training to strengthen industry capabilities.
"We are delighted to align with Bimco, an organisation that shares our commitment to advancing a sustainable and inclusive maritime industry," said Elpi Petraki (pictured left), president of Wista international. "In joining forces, we can amplify our impact by promoting knowledge exchange, professional development, and the collaboration," she added. (js)
