Kenya Airways boosts cargo capacity

National carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) is increasing its cargo capacity by doubling its freight frequencies to seven destinations within Africa.

KQ Cargo will now deploy its B737- 300F freighter two times a week to Harare, Lusaka, Entebbe, Dar es Salaam, Juba, Bangui, and Lubumbashi. These destinations are some of the major markets that feed Kenya Airways' entire network.

By increasing the frequencies, the carrier will add 60 t more to its capacities per week. The decision was taken in response to the growing demand for air cargo services from traders and business entities in the region. It is in line with Kenya Airways commitment to enhance air-cargo capacity by ensuring that the network is optimally served, especially for the African markets. (cj)
