Kögel boosting reefer output
Kögel Trailer GmbH recently inaugurated a production facility at its Burtenbach headquarters in Bavaria (Germany).
The plant manufactures panels for its lightweight refrigerated semi-trailer called the ‘Kögel Cool Liteshell’. Built with PU foam cores, fibreglass mats and TPU, the design reduces tare weight, cuts fuel use and emissions and increases payload.
The investment aims to reinforce Kögel’s commitment to sustainable logistics and strengthen its position in Germany and neighbouring markets. The centre, which is supported by a German federal programme called ‘Investing in the future of automotive manufacturers and suppliers’, was opened in the presence of Martin Schöffel, Bavaria’s state secretary for finances and the homeland. The first trailers will be deployed this year by pilot customers. (js)
