Kombiverkehr restructures rail traffic

Kombiverkehr has completed its traction conversion project, allowing four players in the rail transport sector – Kombi Rail Europe, Lokomotion, SBB Cargo International and DB Cargo – to take on large service packages.

After the conversion, 18 railway enterprises will be partners of Kombiverkehr. Eleven of them are direct contractual partners as carriers, whilst seven are commissioned for individual traction services. Newly added to the intermodal network are Frachtbahn from Vienna (Austria) and Hector Rail from Bochum (Germany).

Uncertainty concerning the continuation of Kombiverkehr’s cooperation with DB Cargo in the intermodal block train business initiated this reorganisation of its transport services. (ben)
