Kombiverkehr tracks CO₂
Kombiverkehr KG and Hamburg-based software provider shipzero are now collaborating to track and report rail transport emissions. The partnership responds to growing demand from freight forwarders for accurate emissions data. The collaboration also aims to promote the environmental benefits of rail.
Shipzero meets both the GLEC standard and ISO 14083. The system will use anonymised order data from Kombiverkehr to calculate CO₂ values, which will then be fed into Kombiverkehr’s customer platforms via automated interfaces. Customers will gain access to daily updated emission metrics through portals. The project will offer retroactive data coverage from the start of 2025. (js)
